Kazys Varnelis is a multifaceted and unique personality. An artist and aesthete by nature, a representative of Chicago modern art, a master of optical compositions \u2013 his works are kept in the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, the Art Institute of Chicago, other museums in the United States, the Budapest Museum of Art, and the collections of Lithuanian art museums.
\nHaving spent the most creative decades of his life abroad, K. Varnelis returned, significantly adding to the chapter of optical art, minimalism and constructivism in the history of Lithuanian art. Lithuania will forever be grateful for the large collection of works donated and other collections accumulated throughout his life, including values \u200b\u200brelated to Lithuanian history and culture, cartography and bibliophile rarities, European and Asian cultural artifacts, and unique examples of applied art. The Kazys Varnelis House-Museum was established in 2001. The exhibition created by the artist and collector invites you to a cozy and stylish home, where there are many universal cultural signs and knowledge, harmoniously matching furniture of different eras and styles, works of art, as well as paintings and sculptures by the artist himself.
