Description

The catalogue of the international exhibition “200 Shoes – 700 Years”, organized together with the Gdansk City Archaeological Museum (Poland), provides a unique opportunity to get to know the inhabitants of the 12th–18th centuries urban space in a very unusual way – through worn footwear. The finds from regions that have experienced different histories in the joint exhibition are not compared, but combined into a single whole. The absolute majority of the exhibition exhibits consist of urban footwear, various footwear accessories, shoemakers’ tools, revealing the specifics of this craft. In total, the exhibition exhibits 275 restored archaeological finds.
