Description

The book of the exhibition "I am a Vilnius resident" is dedicated to the 700th anniversary of the city of Vilnius. The book is dedicated to everyone who is interested in history, loves the city of Vilnius and has chosen to celebrate its extraordinary anniversary together with the characters of this exhibition. The book, like the exhibition, presents fifty Vilnius residents - fifty Vilnius personal stories, representing all seven centuries of the city's history.

Almost all the heroes are real historical figures who once lived or still live in Vilnius. Each figure is accompanied by images of the most significant exhibits of the exhibition and playful drawings illustrating the life of this Vilnius resident. The proposed tasks connect each story with a specific place in Vilnius and invite visitors/readers to take a walk in the places where the characters of the exhibition/book might once have walked during the anniversary year.
Before immersing you in the stories of Vilnius residents, the story of St. Christopher, the patron saint of the city and the main figure on the Vilnius city coat of arms, is introduced. This saint will accompany you throughout the book, appearing in the stories of more than one character.
