Description
"History Wags Its Tail" is the second e-book of the National Museum of Lithuania, created according to the principles of inclusive publishing and receiving a certificate confirming this. The book was voiced by professional narrators. The inclusive EPUB format allows you to adapt the reading experience to individual needs: you can change the text size, font, contrast, use voice synthesis or professional voiceover, and the text on the screen is highlighted in real time - which is extremely important for people with dyslexia, visual or learning disabilities. The project was implemented with the help of the Audiosensory Library, which bravely accepts challenges and actively cooperates in the field of communication.

It is incredible that a wild animal that existed thousands of years ago has become an irreplaceable collaborator and most loyal friend to man. In this book, the reader will discover the stories of dogs who lived in Lithuania in different historical periods about their lives, the joys and sorrows they experienced. The stories of all four-legged friends are based on real events: some dogs made it to the pages of historical chronicles or the press, so we know both their names and the details of their lives. From here we have knowledge about Sigismund Augustus's favorite Grif or the writer Vaižgantas' mischievous Kaukas. The names of other puppies have disappeared in the labyrinths of history, but their traces remain in archaeological finds, old photographs or the stories of their owners.

How to read EPUB publications?
The EPUB format ensures a reading experience for everyone – EPUB not only allows you to change the font, its size, contrast, and line spacing, but you can also listen to the text! This EPUB is voiced, and the narrator's voice is synchronized with the text of the book (the reading position is marked on the screen in a different color). This functionality of the EPUB format is perfect for those with reading disabilities or those learning to read.
It's important to note that not all EPUB reading programs support narration. Therefore, we recommend:
🟡If you are reading on a computer, download a free program „Thorium Reader”.
🟡If you are reading on a phone/tablet with Android operating system, download the free app „Colibrio Reader“.
🟡If you are reading on a phone/tablet with iOS operating system, download the free app „Book Fusion“.
