Description
The 600th anniversary of the Baptism of Samogitia (1413–2013) encourages a return to old portraits, hoping to revive historical memory, supplementing it with new insights. The collection of portraits of Samogitian bishops published in the book consists of forty portraits, all but one (Jonas Jeronimas Krispinas Kiršenšteinas) are reproduced here, along with Latin inscriptions, their translations into Lithuanian, and brief information about the Samogitian bishops. This is the most comprehensive publication of this collection of portraits.
